_____ Farmer Breakneck yoked Oxbrain to the cart. "We're taking this corn to market today", he said.
_____ But the Ox, feeling ornery that day, said "No. Not unless you address me by my full legal name, which is Oxford Brainerd. Otherwise, you can't legally make me do anything. Especially not pull heavy stuff. I read it somewhere. Just like when you sign contracts, you have to use your full, legal name!"
_____ The Farmer, in no mood to argue, said "Okay, okay, Mr. Oxford Brainerd. Whatever. Now you pull this ding-dong cart NOW!"
_____ Our Ox, not content, went on: "Let me see. Yes, we also, by law, get a 15 minute break for every 4 hours worked. And a one hour lunch. And benefits. Like... hmm... VACATIONS!!"
_____ Farmer B's eyes flared with anger. He reached for his whip, but then regained his composure. "Okay, Mistah Oxbrain, I mean Mistah Oxford Brainerd, tell you what. I don't want no trouble with the law. So today, I'll give you a nice long break, plus a vacation, and you won't even have to pull this cart. How's that?"
_____ Oxbrain snorted with glee, thinking about how easily he had outwitted his simple owner.
_____ "You'll get a nice long break sitting at the bottom of my stew pot, and for a vacation, a fun li'l cruise through my guts!"
