About the Characters
Oxbrain the Ox
Oxbrain, the main character of this site, is a smart ox who lives on a farm somewhere in Georgia. He is "owned" by Farmer Breakneck.
While he regards his owner with affection, Oxbrain is not above getting by with as little effort as possible: the occasional prank on Farmer Breakneck to postpone work is always worth a try! He would rather read than plow, and doing crosswords ranks high on his list of preferred activities.
Like other oxen, he's stubborn, and he has a bit of a temper too. He also thinks like an ox: he says or does things that make perfect sense to him, but seem totally funny or silly to us humans. I wouldn't recommend inviting him to dinner. Well, at least don't use your best china.
Farmer Breakneck
Farmer Breakneck is a wizened old man who has lived most of his life on his farm. He has to keep busy with one farm chore or another, and that includes trying to make Oxbrain do some work!
His neighbors think he's daffy. They always see him talking to his ox!
About the Illustrators
Susie Allen at work.
Susie Allen is the latest artist to be featured on Oxbrain. She is 19 years old and a sophomore at the University of Georgia, newly admitted to the Graphic Design program. She loves painting, drawing, music and theater. After graduation she plans to be a graphic designer and illustrate magazines and children's books.

John T. Sherman lives in Athens, Georgia, where he has been since the early 1990s. Prior to that, he lived in The Philippines where he was involved in book distribution.
